We are a rapidly growing heavy‑haul transportation company specializing in oversized, overweight, and specialized loads across Western Canada and the United States. To support our expanding fleet, we are seeking reliable and safety‑driven Pilot Truck / Escort Vehicle Drivers to accompany over‑dimensional loads and ensure safe, compliant travel.

Position Overview

The Pilot Truck Driver plays a critical role in the safe movement of heavy‑haul and oversized loads. You will escort trucks on regional and long‑distance routes, communicate hazards, assist with navigation, and ensure compliance with provincial and state escort requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Escort heavy‑haul and oversized loads using a certified pilot/escort vehicle
- Communicate road hazards, traffic conditions, and route changes to the truck driver
- Assist with navigation through tight areas, construction zones, and high‑risk sections
- Ensure compliance with provincial/state escort regulations and permit requirements
- Set up and operate warning signs, flags, lights, and communication equipment
- Maintain accurate trip logs, inspection reports, and documentation
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections




- Represent the company professionally when interacting with the public, clients, and law enforcement

Qualifications

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 1 is an asset but not required)
- Pilot Car Certification (Alberta or equivalent) or willingness to obtain
- Clean driving record with strong safety awareness
- Experience escorting oversized or heavy‑haul loads is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain alert for long periods
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable with extended travel
- Ability to use radios, GPS, and escort‑specific equipment
- Must provide a well‑maintained, properly equipped pilot vehicle (if applicable)
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment, post‑incident, and random drug and alcohol testing

Pay: $30.00-$31.00 per hour
