Job Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and attentive Softball Umpire to officiate a one-day tournament. The ideal candidate will ensure fair play, enforce game rules, and maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. Duties

- Officiate softball games according to official rules and tournament guidelines
- Make accurate calls on plays, strikes, balls, and outs
- Enforce game rules consistently and fairly for all teams
- Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and other officials
- Maintain focus and impartiality during fast-paced game situations
- Ensure the safety of players and spectators by monitoring game conduct
- Keep track of game time, scorekeeping, and any necessary rule clarifications

Skills





- Prior experience as a softball umpire or familiarity with softball rules is preferred but not required; training will be provided if needed
- Strong knowledge of softball gameplay and officiating procedures
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with players, coaches, and tournament staff
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure with fairness and professionalism
- Attention to detail in observing gameplay and enforcing rules accurately
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work for the duration of the tournament day
