Controller – Construction Industry

We are currently seeking a Controller on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing construction business based in Surrey, BC. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who will oversee all financial operations, provide strategic financial guidance, and support the continued growth of the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

· Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

· Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.

· Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

· Monitor financial performance and provide analysis and recommendations to management.

· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.

· Manage GST, PST, corporate tax, and other regulatory filings.

· Establish and maintain solid internal controls and accounting policies.

· Coordinate with external accountants, auditors,



financial institutions, and government agencies.

· Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications and Experience:

· CPA designation (required).

· Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience

· Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant preferred.

· Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

· Experience with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience in manufacturing, distribution, construction, or a related industry is considered an asset.
