- Import, manipulate, and process customer 2D and 3D models in preparation for quote, feasibility, or design, utilizing standard file and directory naming conventions. Must have a proficient working knowledge of Cimatron Design software
- Analyze product designs, materials, and manufacturing processes to optimize mold design.
- Conduct simulations and testing to validate mold designs.
- Ensure mold designs meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Create and manage design libraries. Utilize libraries to ensure Mold components are standardized as much as possible. Maintain a detailed list of standard components. Design utilizing standard libraries.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for mold projects.
- Analyze project requirements, materials, and labor costs to create estimates.
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide quotes and proposals to customers.
- Mentor junior mold designers and estimators.
- Oversee mold design and estimating projects to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and manufacturing.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration to meet project requirements.
