Shop assistant will work on a variety of equipment for repair and maintenance. The types of equipment serviced are varied: concrete pumps, power trowels, vehicles, etc. The shop assistant position does not have a limited job description, and is expected to:
- Assist in maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Deliver and pick-up parts and/or materials from retailers or the field
- Follow and carry out instructions
- Complete paperwork in an orderly and timely manner
- Protect self and others by following work safe procedures
- Communicate effectively, be flexible, and discuss and resolve issues
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum level of completed education required – high school or high school equivalent
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Valid BC driver's license with clean driving record
- Some mechanical experience and the ability to learn quickly
- Must be well organized, be able to multitask, and work well under pressure
- Must have proper personal protective gear (steel-toe boots, hard hat, vest)
- Full time position, work overtime as required, occasional Saturdays
- Strenuous activity and agility is required in the handling of equipment and accessories
Beneficial, but not required:
- Experience in the concrete industry
- Level 1 First Aid
Wage:
- Wage based on experience, but starting at $18 per hour
