Interwest Consulting Group is seeking a motivated Civil Plan Check Engineer to join our Public Works team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to public infrastructure projects while developing technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities - Assist with plan checking for encroachment permits; land development grading plans, street plans, water and sewer plans, drainage plans, and drainage studies - Review traffic control plans for compliance with applicable standards - Coordinate with utilities, contractors, consultants, and municipal departments - Support construction management activities, including resolving field issues when needed - Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project correspondence Required Skills & Knowledge - Understanding of engineering principles related to public works, utilities, and/or land development projects - Working knowledge of plan preparation, including mass grading, rough grading, precise grading, storm drain systems, street improvements, and sewer and water plans - Familiarity with land development processes, including entitlements, conditions of approval,



hydrology and hydraulics, SWQMPs, and final maps - Awareness of relevant local, state, and federal regulations applicable to public works and development projects - Familiarity with CEQA is preferred - Solid organizational, analytical, and communication skills Experience & Software Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years of professional experience preferred - Any combination of civil design and/or civil plan check experience - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel - Experience using Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat required - Exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, ArcView, or ArcInfo is a plus Education &
