Role Responsibilities

Restitution Program Liaison provides overall program oversight and victim support for the Restitution Recovery Program (RRP).

The position requires a self‑motivated individual with robust judgment and communication skills, who will work closely with stakeholders across the criminal justice system to coordinate the restitution process in Alberta. The role has significant influence on program operations and public accountability.

To be successful in this role you must:

- Have a general understanding of the operations of the criminal justice system
- Preform environmental scans and to identify risks and best practices.
- Bring experience working with external clients and apply knowledge of trauma‑informed practice.
- Apply exceptional communication skills when preparing briefings, policy, report writing, and problem solving.
- Ensure public communication and documents related to the Restitution Recovery Program, Victim Impact Statement and Community Impact Statement are current and appropriate
Work both independently and collaboratively in cross‑ministry teams to promote, develop, and maintain effective communication and strong working relationships across ministries.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

- University graduation in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Public Administration, or related field
- PLUS, a minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- Equivalencies will be considered on a one year-for-one-year basis.

Assets:

- Experience working with members of the public
- Experience writing for and disseminating data for stakeholders at varying levels
- Experience working with the criminal justice system or other legal environment
- Trauma informed work experience or certification
- Experience working with JOIN and ARTS

- Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day/ 36.25 hours per week
- Monday to Friday 8:15am to 4:30pm (in-person)
