Position Overview

As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will play a critical role in detecting and apprehending shoplifters, minimizing financial loss due to theft, and documenting incidents through detailed reports. This is a hands-on role that requires confidence and professionalism in conducting physical apprehensions in a retail environment.

This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with education in Police Foundations or Private Security, and for those looking to build a meaningful career in public safety and retail protection.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct plain clothes surveillance to detect and apprehend shoplifters
- Minimize financial loss related to theft and fraud
- Write detailed apprehension and prevention reports
- Follow company and client policies and procedures
- Collaborate with store management and law enforcement as needed

Requirements

- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (required)
- Basic understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and Powers of Arrest
- Ability to communicate effectively with first responders, staff, and management
- Availability to work a variety of shifts including days,



evenings, and weekends
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- Willingness to travel up to 50%

Training Policy

We offer paid training to support your success in this role. Please note: training hours are paid only upon completion of a minimum number of scheduled work hours following training. If the minimum threshold is not met, training time will not be compensated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
