Municipal Transportation Engineer

M Squared Engineering is seeking a passionate and driven individual with 3-6 years of experience in WisDOT and/or Municipal Engineering in Wisconsin to join our team as a Municipal / Civil Engineer in our Cedarburg, WI office. Tasks & Responsibilities:

- Perform and/or oversee design tasks for a variety of municipal projects.
- Prepare complete contract packages, including plans, specifications, special provisions, quantity and cost estimates, and other contract document components.
- Support on the design of other types of projects as-needed, including civil/site development, transportation and water resources projects.
- Perform design calculations, develop design criteria, and prepare technical reports.
- Review existing designs for compliance with client or industry design criteria and requirements.
- Collaborating with architects, contractors, and other professionals.
- Analyzing data and ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards
- Guide and mentor junior staff.
- Support water resources and transportation design teams
- Work independently and as a part of a team on various infrastructure projects.




- Perform occasional field work based on project needs related to design, construction, or compliance activities.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and peer firms while enhancing the M Squared Engineering reputation.
- Put forward a positive attitude toward clients.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3-6 years of experience in municipal engineering or site development
- Experience with WisDOT projects and/or projects for Wisconsin Municipalities.
- Experience preparing construction plans, specifications and cost estimates.
- EIT required; PE License Preferred
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D proficiency Required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Openness to trying new things and taking on challenging tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
