Role Description: We are looking for an experienced Structural Drafting Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a structural drafting role in Canada.
The candidate is responsible for:
- Preparing detailed structural design drawings using Revit,
- Reviewing shop drawings against structural design drawings,
- Ensuring all documentation adheres to applicable codes and company standards,
- Training/Supporting junior technologists,
- Reviewing drawings internally,
- Performing site reviews during construction, and
- Writing site inspection reports.
The technologist will take a leadership role, collaborating with structural engineers and other project stakeholders to resolve design details and clarify drawing issues.
Additional responsibilities may include maintaining drawing libraries and assisting with project documentation.
Qualifications:
- This is a full-time, in office role based in Lethbridge, AB.
- Must be a Canadian citizen living in or near Lethbridge, AB, or willing to relocate.
- Must be fluent in English with strong skills in written and verbal communication.
- Must have a vehicle and a driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- A minimum of 3 years continuous vehicle insurance.
- Team player who can work with minimal direction.
- Able to conceptualize structural and architectural details in 3 dimensions.
- Strong ability to produce and interpret technical drawings for structural projects.
- Experience working with Architectural Drawings and coordinating structural details with architectural design.
- Foundational knowledge of structural engineering concepts as they relate to drafting and detailing.
- Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow standards, and commitment to accuracy in all drawings.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and construction professionals.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain clear documentation.
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
