Job Summary:

Switzmalph Child Care Centre is seeking energetic and qualified full time Early Childhood Educators to work at our center. Positions available are for infant/toddler, preschool, and 3-5-year-old daycare programs. Early Childhood Educators will provide quality and inclusive programming in a group setting supporting children and families.

Experience:

- Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
- - Knowledge and understanding of cross-cultural issues that impact the Secwepemc First Nation community.
- - Knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted living Act and Child Care Licensing Regulations.
- - Demonstrating understanding of the development of children and their mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- - Demonstrating an understanding of inclusivity of children with special needs.
- - Encouraging children’s learning and positive development of their self-concept.
- - Appropriately guiding and supervising children in various settings.




- - Supervising children’s indoor and outdoor activities ensuring required safety standards according to licensing are met.
- - Possessing excellent written and oral skills as well as interpersonal skills.
- - Ability to maintain healthy cooperative working relationships with members of staff, community, and other representatives from various organizations.

Education & Qualifications

- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to attend professional development courses annually

- Completion of an early childhood education certificate program

- Must have current first aid and food safe certificates

- Valid BC ECE certificate will be an asset.

- Clear criminal record check.

Conditions of Employment:

- A valid Early Childhood Education Certificate

- Criminal Record Clearance

- Valid First Aid Certificate

- Ability to obtain a doctor’s certificate ensuring health is adequate for position

- Letters of reference (3)

- Immunization Status

- Valid Food Safe certificate
