If you’re a heavy-duty equipment mechanic, hydraulic mechanic, automotive mechanic, marine mechanic, crane mechanic, elevator mechanic, hydraulic technician or millwright with a few years of experience we want you to join Falcon Equipment! This position will be based out of our Nanaimo location.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise the activities of the shop floor
- Train technicians in installation methods, safety, policies and procedures
- Perform maintenance, repairs and testing on our customers’ various types of equipment focusing on truck-mounted cranes, snow and ice, and rail equipment
- Performing other duties as required
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related experience with heavy equipment installations and/or maintenance
- Their Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician / Mechanic
- OR will be in their 4th year of their apprenticeship with related heavy equipment experience
- OR a combination of related education and work experience
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Hydraulic and electrical experience and knowledge is a definite asset
- Solid mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot problems and read schematics
- The ability to maneuver in and around heavy equipment
- The ability to work independently
- Your own tools
- Welding experience is a definite asset
