Istanbul Doner House is a Turkish restaurant specialized in doner, kebab, baklava and other specialties of Turkish cuisine. We opened our first restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario. We have several branches in GTA and neighbouring cities now. Our Mississauga restaurant serves as the production hub for other locations.

Istanbul Doner House is seeking a pastry (baklava) chef (NOC 62200 – Specialty Chefs) to work full-time, permanent, 30 hours per week at our main restaurant located at 1201 Britannia Rd W, Mississauga, ON L5V 1N2.

Job to start as soon as possible. Working hours include daytime and weekends. Overtime may also be required. We welcome applications from youth, veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, visible minorities, Indigenous people, and newcomers to Canada.

Compensation: $37.00 an hour

Additional pay: Overtime pay after 44 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Prepare and cook complete baklava desserts and its variations

* Create decorative baklava displays for special events such as religious gatherings, banquets, etc.





* Instruct kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of baklava desserts

* Create new recipes of baklava and baklava desserts

* Supervise other kitchen staff in preparing the dough, phyllo, other ingredients for baklava

* Requisition baklava kitchen supplies

Equipment experience: Dough machine, oven and other kitchen supplies

Area of specialization:

Baklava pastry and related desserts such as kunafa, kadaifi, etc.
