Job description:

Glowinsky Law, based in North York, ON, is seeking a Junior Associate Lawyer with 2-5 years of experience in personal injury litigation and/or insurance defence litigation (tort claims, motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, accident benefits, falls, long-term disability advantages denials, etc.) to join our growing firm.

Attributes of Candidate:

- A strong client-service approach
- A strong attention to detail and excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to be resourceful, organized, and work with minimal instruction or supervision
- The ability to meet deadlines while reassessing priorities as needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) when dealing with lawyers, clients, staff, and third parties
- Being proactive and taking initiative in anticipation of the next steps on an assigned task

Responsibilities:

- Assisting and reporting to the senior lawyer
- Drafting various documents, including correspondence, pleadings, briefs, memoranda, and LAT materials
- Attending client meetings, mediations, Examinations for Discovery, and other litigation proceedings
- Negotiating settlements of clients’ claims
- Communicating with clients,



treatment providers, and opposing counsel
- Carrying files from client intake and pre-litigation through to resolution, by Trial or otherwise
- Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- A minimum of 2-5 years of litigation experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Experience drafting pleadings and other Court documents
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
