We are seeking a detail-oriented Racker to support our metal finishing and surface treatment operations. The Racker will be responsible for handling, preparing, and positioning complex and close-tolerance parts for anodizing, chromating, passivation, and other finishing processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow precise instructions to ensure high-quality finishing results.
Key Responsibilities
- Rack, hang, and secure a variety of metal parts-including small, delicate, and close-tolerance components-according to process specifications.
- Follow instructions for precision masking to ensure accurate coating coverage and protection of critical areas.
- Prepare parts for processes such as hardcoat anodizing, chromic anodizing, chemical conversion coating (including RoHS-compliant coatings), passivation, and manganese phosphate.
- Inspect parts before racking for cleanliness, defects, or damage, and report issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper spacing, alignment, and electrical contact for parts undergoing anodizing or plating processes.
- Unrack finished parts safely and inspect for quality and coating consistency.
- Assist in pre- and post-processing steps such as rinsing, drying, counting, and packaging.
- Maintain accurate part counts and documentation as required.
- Follow all safety protocols, including handling chemicals and PPE requirements.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with production standards.
- Collaborate with production and technical staff to meet daily output and quality goals.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in metal finishing, anodizing, masking, chemical processing, or a production workplace preferred (but not requiredtraining provided).
- Ability to handle small parts and perform precision work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Reliability, consistency, and a strong work ethic.

Work Environment
