Island Heights Construction Ltd., is a licensed residential and commercial builder serving Vancouver Island, working across residential new construction and renovation, and commercial construction projects.

We're looking for a Project Coordinator to support the transition from project conception through execution, working closely across pre-construction, estimating, and project management. This role is designed as a growth path toward Project Estimator or Project Manager as experience develops.

Note: While a pay range is outlined, final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do:

- Support pre-construction planning and coordination.
- Participate in initial client meetings and assist with proposal development and bid submissions.
- Coordinate estimating efforts: collecting subcontractor quotes, assembling takeoffs, maintaining cost databases.
- Prepare and manage pre-construction documentation: scope of work, budgets, schedules, risk assessments.
- Facilitate handoffs to field teams, ensuring accurate and complete project information.
- Track permits, drawings, and approvals to ensure readiness for construction start.
- Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews.
- Maintain organized project files and databases using company systems.
- Build relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.

What We're Looking For:

Required:





- 2-4 years of experience in construction, estimating, or project coordination
- Working knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods and terminology
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and construction management software (Buildertrend an asset)
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to multitask and exercise judgment independently
- Self-motivated, proactive approach to problem-solving

Assets:

- Experience with permitting, planning, or pre-construction documentation in BC
- Prior client-facing or sales-support experience
- Knowledge of construction estimating practices and tools PMP, CEC, or similar certification
- Ability to interpret RFPs, RFQs, and related bid documentation
- Experience with commercial bidding platforms (BC Bid, BidCentral, or similar)
