The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy of inventory, and maintaining organized records. This role plays a key part in warehouse operations by verifying, tracking, and coordinating materials and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation
- Load and unload materials manually or using equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack)
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and deliveries
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams regarding shipments
- Identify and report damaged or missing items
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
- Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations preferred
- Basic computer skills (inventory systems, MS Excel, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Knowledge of shipping documentation (BOL, packing slips, etc.)
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
