Come join our growing team at Total One Contracting and work on exciting projects throughout HRM. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable truck driver to operate a new Western Star tandem with pup trailer. MUST experience hauling with pup trailer and tag trailer to apply.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Nova Scotia Class 1 or 3 license with condition 15 endorsement, have a clean driver’s abstract, and possess a minimum of 3 years driving experience. Experience operating pup trailers and floats is required. Candidates must be able to operate equipment safely in all weather conditions and work independently when required.

Reliability, punctuality, and strong safety awareness are essential. Being mechanically inclined is considered an asset.

Duties

- Perform daily inspections of trucks and equipment
- Conduct minor repairs and general maintenance when required
- Safely operate company vehicles, including tandem trucks with pup trailers and floats
- Assist with equipment transport, salvage, and recovery operations
- Follow all company safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and equipment use
- Work unsupervised on shifts when required
- Complete additional duties assigned by management

Skills & Experience





- Experience operating heavy trucks and equipment
- Pup trailer experience required
- Float hauling experience is a must
- Ability to operate forklifts or freight-handling equipment is an asset
- Basic mechanical or equipment repair knowledge is an asset
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and best practices

Requirements

- Valid Nova Scotia Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with condition 15 endorsement
- Minimum 3 years professional driving experience
- Clean driver’s abstract (Nova Scotia)
- Minimum 5-year protected driving record, including:
- 5 years accident-free driving
- 5 years free of moving traffic violations
- 5 years free of alcohol or drug-related driving offenses
- Ability to operate equipment safely in various weather and site conditions
