Position Overview

Canco is hiring a Gas Attendant for its Mitchell location. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

- Greet customers and assist with fueling
- Answer questions and provide general assistance

Maintenance & Cleanliness

- Clean fuel pumps, restrooms, store areas, and fuel islands
- Pick up litter and maintain overall station cleanliness

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all fuel handling, safety, and environmental regulations
- Respond to emergencies (fuel spills, fires, medical incidents)
- Use safety equipment (e.g., gloves, safety glasses)

Operations & Inventory

- Track fuel sales, transactions, and inventory
- Update fuel price displays accurately




- Monitor fuel levels in underground tanks
- Restock store merchandise (snacks, drinks, etc.)
- Notify management when inventory is low

Cash Handling & Equipment

- Process payments (cash, debit/credit, mobile)
- Operate POS systems
- Manage fuel pumps and different fuel types (gas, diesel, ethanol blends)

Qualifications

Required:

- Customer service or retail experience
- Solid work ethic and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Basic cash handling and POS system skills

Preferred:

- Experience in gas stations, petroleum, or convenience stores

Work Environment

- On-site position at the Mitchell Canco location
- Physical role requiring standing, movement, and multitasking

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.60 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mitchell, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safety Certification (required)
- Smart Serve (required)
