Line Cook

Nick’s Steakhouse & Pizza is looking for an experienced and reliable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. We are a family-run restaurant that has served the Calgary community since 1979, and we pride ourselves on quality food, consistency, and a respectful, team-oriented work environment.

How You Will Make an Impact
You will play a key role in supporting daily kitchen operations through food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Your work helps ensure every guest receives high-quality, well-prepared meals.

Responsibilities

- Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- Cook and plate meals for dine-in and take-out, ensuring correct temperature, presentation, and taste
- Follow established ticket and service procedures during busy shifts
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen before, during, and after service, following food safety and sanitation standards
- Store, label, and handle food properly in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keep refrigerators, freezers, and storerooms clean, organized, and stocked according to standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and correctly
- Assist with prep planning, basic record keeping, and reporting as required
- Assist with ordering and receiving food and kitchen supplies as needed




- Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or safety concerns to a supervisor immediately

About You

- Previous cooking experience as a line cook, prep cook, or restaurant cook is required
- Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and procedures
- Strong understanding of safe food handling and storage, and sanitization best practices
- Able to work efficiently with accuracy and speed in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically able to perform the duties of the role, including standing for long periods and lifting as required
