You’re Already Leading the Crew. It’s Time your rewards matched your responsibilities.
Earn up to $40 per hour if this sounds like you
You may already be leading jobs without the title, authority, or support.
You are the person customers look to when something goes wrong. You reorganize the day when materials are missing. You correct poor work before it becomes a callback. You keep the crew moving while management only hears about the result.
You are capable of more than reacting to chaos.
Unger Window & Door is hiring a Residential Install Team Lead to take ownership of daily field execution, crew performance, installation quality, labour efficiency, and the customer’s jobsite experience.
This role is for an experienced installer who can lead clearly, maintain standards, and solve problems before they become expensive.
The Role
You will lead a residential window and door installation crew from arrival through close-out.
You will review the job plan, assign work, control sequencing, monitor quality, protect labour performance, communicate with Residential Operations, coach installers, and ensure the customer’s home is treated professionally.
You are not expected to solve every issue alone. You are expected to identify issues early, communicate clearly, and bring practical solutions rather than surprises.
What You Own
- Daily jobsite planning and crew direction
- Installation quality and final workmanship
- Jobsite safety and customer-property protection
- Labour productivity and workflow
- Clear task assignment based on installer ability
- Early reporting of material, scope, product, and site issues
- Quality checks before work is covered or finalized
- Coaching and accountability for installers
- Professional communication with customers and Operations
- Clean job completion with minimal deficiencies or callbacks
- Identifying repeat problems and helping improve the system
You May Be a Strong Fit If You
- Are an experienced residential window and door installer
- Can lead without creating unnecessary conflict
- Know how to organize a crew and sequence work
- Understand how field decisions affect labour, margin, quality, and the customer
- Address poor performance directly and respectfully
- Coach junior installers instead of simply doing their work for them
- Identify risks before the crew loses time
- Communicate clearly when a job is blocked or going over budget
- Bring solutions, not only problems
- Want responsibility, accountability, and an opportunity to influence how work is done
This Role Is Not a Fit If You
- Avoid difficult conversations with crew members
- Blame the office for every field issue
- Allow poor work to continue because correcting it is uncomfortable
- Wait until the end of the job to report labour overruns
- Treat safety, cleanup, or customer communication as secondary
- Hoard knowledge instead of developing the crew
- Want the authority of leadership without accountability for results
- Accept recurring breakdowns without trying to fix the cause
