WAG/MAG Comp 1 Certified Part-Time Coach
Kawartha Gymnastics is seeking a WAG and/or MAG Comp 1 Certified Part-Time Coach for our growing competitive artistic gymnastics program located in Bancroft, ON.
Kawartha Gymnastics is an established not for profit organization with it's main location in Peterborough, ON. We are seeking certified gymnastics coaches to join our growing team at our new secondary location in Bancroft, ON.
Kawartha Gymnastics has a strong competitive program led by dedicated, competent and hard-working coaches. We offer competitive classes for ages 4+ yrs. We are looking for a strong, qualified coach with exceptional technical experience to help grow and cultivate our program.
The successful candidate will coach a variety of programs including compulsory, optional, and ODP. This candidate must be experienced in coaching competitive athletes, be highly organized, and have a strong understanding of long-term planning and development. They will work in collaboration with the Head Coach, WAG & MAG Directors, and other leadership positions.
Qualifications/Experience:
- WAG and/or MAG Competition One Trained certification
- 1 year of competitive coaching experience including Optional, Compulsory, Xcel and ODP Programs
- Valid police record check including vulnerable person search
- First Aid/CPR certified (or willing to obtain)
- Making Ethical Decisions (NCCP)
- Safe Sport (both GCG and GO courses)
- Strong knowledge and experience of gymnastics coaching, programming, and athlete development
- Ability to work flexible hours and afternoons/evenings as required
- Must be able to bear weight as required to spot or support athletes of all ages and abilities
- Must be able to be physically active including (but not limited to) movements such as: rotation, squatting, lifting, holding and others as required
Additional Skills:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, providing technical direction as necessary
- Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills in dealing with coaches, athletes, and parents
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and activities
- Willingness to actively recruit new athletes and promote the club, oversee the assessment and testing of new athletes
- Ability to address athlete/participant behaviour or issues with parents and suggest appropriate action
- Communicate with the Head Coach and WAG.MAG Director's on any safety concerns, equipment needs, and program issues as they arise
- Willingness to follow and implement all cleaning and safety measures of the organization including ongoing equipment checks, monitoring of cleaning logs, and regulations set out by Gymnastics Ontario
Job Type: Part Time, Permanent
Compensation: This part-time coaching position offers competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience. Start date is September 1, 2026.
