Our distribution client is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper on a 6-month contract, with potential to turn permanent, to join their finance team near Ayr, ON. Reporting to the Controller, you'll be responsible for handling full-cycle accounts payable while also assisting with a variety of day-to-day accounting activities.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Ownership of full-cycle bookkeeping; including AP and AR
- Manage the full-cycle AP, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment runs
- Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and goods receipt documentation, and resolve discrepancies
- Verify, code, and process non-PO invoices
- Record invoices and payments accurately in the accounting system
- Maintain vendor records and respond to invoice and payment inquiries from vendors and internal stakeholders
- Process employee expense reports and corporate credit card reconciliations
- Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs
- Download and prepare AP reports as required
- Assist with month-end reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Liaise with customer service, procurement, and other internal teams to ensure timely invoice processing
- Support the Accountant with day-to-day accounting tasks, with the opportunity to take on Accounts Receivable responsibilities over time
- Perform other ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as required
We're Looking For:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of Bookkeeping experience, including AP and AR
- Experience with ERP/accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Robust attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across departments
- A proactive, team-oriented individual who can prioritize competing deadlines and resolve issues professionally
