Position: Yard Associate / Forklift Operator
Location: Surrey, BC

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (No weekends, closed statutory holidays)

Looking for more than just a forklift job? We are assisting I-XL Building Products seeking an energetic, customer-focused Yard Associate/Forklift Operator to join their growing team. This is not a sit-on-the-forklift-all-day role. You'll spend your day assisting customers, picking and building orders, loading vehicles, operating a forklift, and handling building materials in a fast-paced outdoor environment. What You'll Do

- Deliver outstanding customer service to contractors, builders, landscapers, and homeowners.
- Greet customers in the yard and assist with product selection, loading, and order pickups.
- Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Pick, prepare, and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Build pallets and manually handle heavy products on a daily basis.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
- Verify orders for accuracy and inspect products for damage.
- Maintain organized inventory and storage areas.
- Complete shipping, receiving, and order documentation accurately.
- Communicate effectively with team members using radios and other tools.
- Keep the yard, warehouse, and loading areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Assist with snow removal and general yard maintenance as needed.
- Conduct forklift inspections and basic equipment maintenance.




- Follow all safety policies and proactively identify workplace hazards.

What You Bring

- 2+ years of forklift operating experience, preferably in building materials, lumber, landscape supplies, construction, or a similar environment.
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Robust customer service and interpersonal skills—you genuinely enjoy helping people.
- Experience working directly with customers, contractors, or the public.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
- Ability to frequently lift and move products weighing 50+ lbs.
- Shipping and receiving experience is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, and safety-focused.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, fast-paced team.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
