Job Summary

Velvet Switch is a Toronto-based marketing, PR, events, and social media agency. We're looking for a freelance Social Media Coordinator to join our roster on an on-call basis, capturing and editing content for client Instagram and Facebook channels.

This is a freelance, on-call position. You'll be called upon as needed to visit client locations across Toronto, capture photo and video content, and edit it for social media use. Flexibility is essential.

Duties

- Plan, create, and schedule compelling content across Instagram and Facebook (feed posts, Stories, Reels)
- Design eye-catching graphics and visuals using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite to enhance post appeal
- Monitor social media trends and inform future strategies
- Proofread all content meticulously to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand voice adherence
- Travel to client sites in and around Toronto to shoot photo and video content
- Maintain a professional, punctual presence
- Communicate availability clearly and respond promptly to on-call requests
- Deliver finished content within agreed turnaround times

Requirements

- Strong photography and videography skills, with a valuable eye for visual composition




- Proven experience in social media management within a digital marketing or e-commerce environment
- Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail for all written content
- Ability to develop creative visual content that aligns with brand messaging
- Reliable transportation and the flexibility to accommodate variable, on-call scheduling
- Professional, punctual, and comfortable interacting with clients on-site
- Based in Toronto or able to travel within the GTA
- A portfolio or sample reel demonstrating social-first content
