Receiving is responsible for placing and receiving orders from multiple vendors for both banquet and restaurant departments including but not limited to; food items, kitchen supplies, cleaning, and chemical supplies. Other job duties include posting and approving invoices.
Reports to:
Receiving reports directly to the Banquet and Restaurant Chef.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for writing orders while considering inventory and business volumes to ensure an appropriate amount of inventory is being held and being used at maximum freshness.
- Monitoring products being held, and informing Sous Chefs, Chef and Prep Lead if products need to be used to avoid wastage.
- Ensuring correct products are being delivered, and quality checking items received. Required to inform Chef if products are not received in good condition and find a resolution. (Credits, sending products back, etc.)
- Ensuring order is put away in appropriate locations, and in an organized manner, and ensuring cooler, freezer, dry storage and storage areas are clean and organized, while also following Food Protected regulations.
- May be required to drive to local stores to pick up local products.
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by systems; however, one must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F).
- Willingness to help with other tasks as required.
- Willingness to communicate with Kitchen employees, and help other areas as needed such as prep, inventory or what is directed.
- Must meet the minimum physical standards; ability to lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pound and stand for 6-8 hours per day
Job Qualifications:
- 1 year general kitchen experience
