1 full time position available for Physiotherapist

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

· Assess, organize and implement programs to meet individual and group needs of residents.

· Perform a physiotherapy assessment on all residents upon their admission to Harbour View Haven.

· Where possible, acknowledge the residents own goals/desires and treat accordingly based on assessment findings.

· Delegate specific duties to Physiotherapy Assistant.

· Over see the programs in collaboration with the Physiotherapy Assistant and Therapeutics Director for Therapeutic Staff.

· Recommend and monitor suitable candidates for walking programs, making recommendations for individual resident needs regarding assistance required, frequency and distance to be walked.

· Identify, prescribe and monitor all assistive devices i.e. canes, walkers etc. a resident may require, consulting with an occupational therapist when appropriate.

· Collaborate with residents and staff regarding physiotherapy related interventions, education and idea generation.





· Perform administration duties related to the role of the physiotherapist:

- Resident reports for specialized equipment
- Develop or revise policies and procedures
- Document assessment information on the focus notes of the resident
- Provide a weekly report of all physiotherapy visits

· Provide staff training or educate staff individually in aspects of care that enhance or improve the safe practices of the organization.

· Promote proper safety standards for residents and staff in areas relevant to physiotherapy.

· Attend team meetings when requested.

· Ensure confidentiality at all times.

- Applicants must have a Degree in Physiotherapy and in valuable standing
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Nova Scotia

Full time hours: 40 per week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44.12 per hour
