Service Desk Technician

Location: Ajax, ON
Term: Contract position – 12 months
Shift: Monday to Thursday – 7:30 am to 4 pm, Friday 7:30 am to 12:30 pm
Pay Rate: $25 - $30 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

- Assist with PC imaging and deployment
- Diagnose and resolve IS incidents and fulfil IS requests through ServiceNow system, email, phone or walkup and escalate to Level 2 teams when necessary
- Support Windows 11 operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications
- Troubleshoot issues related to PCs, laptops, printers and attached devices
- Perform basic Active Directory tasks (account unlocks, password resets, group membership updates)
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and tickets in a skilled, customer-focused manner
- Document incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures
- Track and manage tickets using an incident management system




- Identify recurring issues and contribute to problem management and trend analysis
- Follow ITIL-based processes for incident and request management

Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- Minimum education level achieved: Vocational/Trade School
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in an IT support role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft certifications are an asset

Familiarity with:

- Windows 11
- Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Active Directory basics
- PC hardware (Dell preferred)
- Printers and peripherals
- SCCM imaging
- Experience with IT ticketing systems
