Position Title: Facilities Supervisor

Shift: Full-Time / Days (with on-call availability for operational emergencies)

Reports To: Facilities & Maintenance Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Supervisor to lead infrastructure operations, building maintenance, and capital facility projects across our high-volume Tier-1 automotive manufacturing facility.

In this role, you will oversee plant grounds, utility systems, external contractor services, and facility personnel to ensure maximum plant uptime, environmental compliance, and worker safety. You will manage preventative maintenance schedules, direct facility upgrades, and partner with production leaders to keep plant operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Facility & Utility Management: Oversee the operation, repair, and PM schedules for plant infrastructure, including HVAC, boilers, industrial chillers, cooling towers, compressed air systems, high-voltage electrical switchgears, scrap conveyors, and wastewater management.
- Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and schedule facility technicians, maintenance personnel, and support staff. Conduct performance reviews, track daily tasks, and promote a collaborative problem-solving culture.
- Contractor & Vendor Oversight: Manage service agreements and supervise third-party contractors for janitorial services, security, fire protection, HVAC maintenance, and trade-specific work. Secure competitive quotes and ensure deliverables meet scope and budget targets.
- Capital & Renovation Projects: Plan and execute plant expansion, renovation, and structural improvement projects from design through completion.



Coordinate work schedules during weekend or holiday plant shutdowns.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Administer CMMS programs for building grounds and equipment. Routinely audit work orders to maintain 100% completion rates and continuously update PM checklists.
- Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce adherence to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), ESA (Electrical Safety Authority), and TSSA standards. Conduct incident investigations, participate in safety audits, and drive strict 5S housekeeping standards throughout the plant.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain comprehensive documentation for facilities maintenance to support quality and environmental management standards (IATF 16949 and ISO 14001).

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Experience: 5 to 8 years of facilities maintenance or supervisory experience within an automotive or heavy industrial manufacturing plant.

Education / Certification:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Construction, Mechanical/Civil Engineering, or Building Maintenance, OR
- A valid Certificate of Qualification in a skilled trade (e.g., 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician, 442A Industrial Electrician, or Millwright license). OR
- Gas Fitter or Stationary Engineer

Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with automated plant systems,



building automation software (BMS), PLC-controlled infrastructure, structural layout reading, and mechanical/electrical schematics.

Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, specifically Regulation 851 (Industrial Establishments) and Regulation 213/91 (Construction Projects).

Software Skills: Proficiency with CMMS maintenance software and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Core Competencies

- Crisis & Priority Management: Ability to prioritize sudden equipment or structural breakdowns, coordinate emergency repairs, and implement permanent corrective actions to minimize plant downtime.
- Communication & Negotiation: Clear verbal and written skills to interface with shop floor staff, plant executive leadership, outside vendors, and municipal inspectors.
- Project Management: Track open-issue lists, manage vendor budgets, and present progress updates to plant leadership.

Working Conditions

- Combined environment of office workspace and active automotive stamping/assembly floor.
- Occasional exposure to noise, vibration, and heavy machinery areas (PPE required).
- Available to respond to off-hour calls or plant emergencies as required.

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
