Our client, a well-established and growing public accounting firm, is seeking an Accountant to join their close-knit team in Antigonish, NS. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for an accounting qualified to join a growing firm, work closely with clients, and take on increasing responsibility within a supportive and collaborative environment
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Prepare compilation engagements for a variety of clients
- Complete bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns
- Prepare financial statements and supporting working papers
- Communicate with clients to address accounting and tax-related inquiries
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Support and mentor junior team members as needed
- Contribute to the tax function and help manage workflow during busy periods
- Stay current with accounting standards and tax legislation
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- CPA designation required, and the ability to complete Compilation Engagements
- Approximately 3 - 5 years of public accounting experience
- Previous experience leading or mentoring team members or overseeing tax work considered an asset
- Proficiency with Sage, QuickBooks Online, and ProFile (Intuit) preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and client service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
