We are a growing company specializing in the design, manufacture, installation , and servicing of heavy mechanical and hydraulic systems for the mining industry. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Millwright who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving technical problems, and can work independently in a shop environment.
Duties
- Assemble and fit heavy mechanical equipment.
- Install, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems and components.
- Perform precision fitting, alignment, and mechanical assembly.
- Operate manual machine tools (lathe, milling machine, drill press, band saw) to manufacture or modify components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assist with equipment installation, testing, and commissioning when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Work closely with a shop hand to complete projects efficiently.
Skills
- Journeyperson Millwright, Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy mechanical assembly.
- Solid hydraulic assembly and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience operating manual machining equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience with welding and fabrication is an asset.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence.
