Operations and Maintenance Team Members will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, quality, and cleanliness of all equipment, gear and kayak used on tours and rentals. In addition, they travel by boat to our base camps on a regular basis to perform housekeeping and maintenance activities. This is a great position for someone who wants to gain experience on the water operating vessels!
Primary Responsibilities
- Operating small landing craft to service base camps
- Maintaining base camp infrastructure
- Washing and putting away tour equipment
- Assisting in preparation or cleanup of tours
- Washing, inspecting, and repairing damaged equipment, gear, and kayaks
- Power washing launch ramp & patrolling the launch and parking area
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop/surrounding area
- Re-stock base camps,
and provide any housekeeping & maintenance needed
- Performing opening & closing duties
- Retail and storefront duties
- General housekeeping and maintenance
- Mowing lawn /water grass.
- Stuff sleeping bags
- Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- PCOC or SVOP, ROC-M certifications
- Physically fit – able to lift 50+ lbs
- A self-starter. Responsible, reliable, decisive & mature.
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Ability to work in a agile and energetic team environment
- Computer & communication skills
- Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or appropriate work visa
- A valid driver’s licence
