Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Relief Child & Youth Care Workers to be a part of a team that mentors and assists chronically and episodically homeless youth to obtain and maintain appropriate housing, community resources, and services to support their long-term well-being.

Responsibilities:

- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
- Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting and maintaining appropriate limits
- Completing and presenting weekly progress reports




- Recognizing each youth’s strengths, weaknesses, care plans, and the best individual approaches for behaviour management
- Working collaboratively with other support services connected with the youth.
- Maintaining appropriate client records and complete reports on a timely manner

You have:

- Ability to meet our Relief/Casual Team Guidelines and Expectations which includes availability requirements for on-call shifts
- High school diploma
- Experience working with at-risk youth with mental health challenges and substance use (or desire to learn)
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
- Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority

Pay: $23.00 per hour

- Youth work: 1 year (preferred)
