We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Designer to join our growing team in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in building mechanical design who is looking to grow professionally with mentorship and hands-on project experience.

The successful candidate will assist with the design and coordination of mechanical systems for building projects, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and other related building mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

- Prepare mechanical drawings and design documents using AutoCAD.
- Assist with the design of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
- Perform site visits to review existing conditions and construction progress.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Apply applicable mechanical codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Support senior engineers and designers with calculations, layouts, reports, equipment schedules, specifications, and construction administration tasks.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.




- Experience or background in building mechanical design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, mechanical codes, plumbing codes, and industry standards.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for site visits.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work from the office.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a mentorship-based environment.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation is considered an asset.
