Wanted: Full-Time Junior Referral Coordinator (Medical Office Assistant) for a busy, fast-paced Specialist Medical Clinic
Physiologix Medical Department is seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated Junior Referral Coordinator (Medical Office Assistant) to join our growing team.
This position combines the core responsibilities of a Medical Office Assistant with a primary focus on specialist referral coordination. Working alongside our experienced Referral Coordinator, you will help ensure patients receive timely access to specialist care while supporting physicians and the clinical team through efficient referral management and administrative support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an MOA looking to develop their skills in specialist referrals and grow within a collaborative, team-oriented clinic.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Process incoming specialist referrals
- Review referrals for completeness and obtain missing information from referring offices
- Create and maintain accurate patient charts within the Electronic Medical Record
- Monitor referral inboxes and incoming electronic faxes
- Sort, upload, and distribute electronic documents
- Assist with referral intake and triaging workflows
- Schedule patient appointments according to clinic procedures
- Maintain physician waitlists and referral tracking systems
- Communicate with patients, referring offices, and healthcare providers regarding referrals and appointments
- Answer incoming telephone calls and provide professional patient service
- Monitor clinic email correspondence
- Assist physicians and the referral team with administrative tasks
- Support general clinic operations and other administrative duties as required
Qualifications
- Medical Office Assistant certificate or equivalent education preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office preferred
- Experience with specialist referrals is considered an asset
- Experience using Accuro EMR is considered an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
