Position Overview:

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our Transmission Overhead & Civil Engineering department. Under the direction
of their supervisor and within a team environment of engineers and technical staff, assist in preparing designs, drawings, studies,
and estimates for new construction, upgrading, restoration, and maintenance of Transmission Civil Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

- Under minimal supervision, perform analysis and designs for new construction, upgrading, restoration, and maintenance of

structures and foundations for substations, overhead transmission, microwave communication, and other civil infrastructure.
- Liaise with customers to establish a working knowledge of immediate business requirements and improve overall

effectiveness in project implementation.
- Assist with quality control inspections at manufacturers' plants and to ensure conformance of fabrication with design.




- Conduct site visits to various construction sites to provide technical direction and support to field personnel and to assist in

resolving related problems.

- Assist with investigations to monitor the condition of existing civil infrastructure, help prepare detailed technical studies and

reports, and provide input on recommendations for remedial measures as required to support the quantification of asset
system risks.

- Undertake an ongoing development of technical knowledge by researching technical publications.

Qualifications:

- Graduate in Civil Engineering from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of four years of engineering

experience.
- Professional member in valuable standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a

specified amount of time).
- Basic knowledge of structural engineering design, codes, standards, and practices.
- Demonstrated previous experience in the structural design and analysis of steel and concrete structures would be considered

an asset.

- Demonstrated previous experience with PLS Cadd, PLS Tower, and/or PLS Pole software would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of construction procedures, techniques, and materials related to foundations and structures used in substations,

overhead transmission, microwave communications,



and other civil infrastructure would be considered an asset.

- Demonstrated previous experience in the inspection of materials and fabrications would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated previous experience in the inspection of existing or newly constructed civil infrastructure with the ability to

provide sound guidance and technical assistance to others would be considered an asset.

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
- Capable of communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Good knowledge of Corporate policies, procedures and regulations.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the Professional Engineer II classification is
$44.75-$61.75 Hourly, $85,745.40-$118,316.64 Annually. The range for the Engineer-in-Training classification is $33.48-$47.12
Hourly, $64,162.80-$90,284.22 Annually.
