Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities & Custodial Assistant to support the maintenance and cleanliness of our facilities. This role combines custodial responsibilities with basic facility maintenance and room setup to support the day-to-day operations of the building. The ideal candidate will have experience in facilities upkeep, with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance needs.

Duties

- Sweep and shovel exterior walkways to help ensure safe access to the building.
- Shake out and vacuum entrance mats.
- Change and maintain outdoor signage.
- Set up and take down tables and chairs for services, meetings, and events.
- Provide building access for contractors and repair personnel as required.
- Replace light bulbs and batteries throughout the facility.
- Identify and report maintenance and repair needs.
- Maintain an organized inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Ensure the proper storage and disposal of cleaning products and waste materials.
- Perform general custodial duties, including:
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Cleaning and sanitizing washrooms.




- Emptying garbage and recycling.
- Cleaning interior windows and other assigned areas.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the building.

Qualifications

- Previous custodial or facilities maintenance experience required
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with staff and volunteers.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Physically able to lift and carry.
- Able to provide a criminal record and child abuse register check.

Work Hours

- part-time days

Compensation: $20/hour
