Warehouse Lead (Working Lead Hand)

We are a growing warehousing and logistics company looking for a hands-on Warehouse Lead to help run our day-to-day operations on the floor. This is not a desk job — this is a working leadership role for someone who can lead by example, stay organized under pressure, and keep freight moving efficiently.

About the Role

You will be responsible for coordinating daily warehouse activities, directing staff, and ensuring inbound and outbound freight flows smoothly — especially during busy periods when multiple trucks and containers arrive at once.

You’ll work alongside the team while also acting as the point person on the floor, making real-time decisions to keep operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

 Direct and coordinate daily warehouse activities (receiving, picking, staging, loading)

 Manage dock flow and prioritize inbound/outbound freight

 Assign tasks and adjust staffing based on workload throughout the day

 Act as the main point of contact for drivers and warehouse staff

 Ensure trucks are loaded/unloaded efficiently and safely

 Identify and resolve bottlenecks quickly

 Maintain organization of staging areas and warehouse layout

 Assist with loading, unloading, and general warehouse duties as required

 Promote a strong work ethic and accountability within the team

 Strong leadership presence — someone people naturally follow

 Ability to stay calm and make decisions in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment

 Previous warehouse experience (shipping/receiving, LTL, freight handling)

 Forklift experience (required)

 Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills

 Ability to manage multiple priorities at once

 Robust communication skills (especially with drivers and team members)

 Reliable, dependable, and takes ownership of their role

 Staff know what they’re doing and stay productive

 The warehouse stays organized and controlled — even during busy periods

 Problems are handled quickly without disrupting the entire operation
