Our client is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Front-End Drivers to join their growing operations team. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while safely collecting, transporting, and delivering waste and recycling containers throughout the assigned route.
The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and enjoys working independently while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and accurately complete DVIR documentation
- Safely operate a front-end collection vehicle while following all company policies and Ministry of Transportation regulations
- Service customer locations in a safe, efficient, and professional manner
- Transport containers to transfer stations and disposal facilities as required
- Maintain a clean work area by collecting any debris or material that may spill during servicing
- Work closely with Dispatch and Operations to maximize route efficiency and provide outstanding customer service
- Utilize the onboard routing and electronic ticketing system to complete work orders and report service interruptions
- Report accidents, incidents, equipment concerns, or property damage immediately
- Maintain accurate daily route documentation and inspection reports
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and operational briefings
- Assist other drivers and operations personnel as required
Working Environment
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Driving in residential, commercial, and industrial areas
- Navigating busy roadways and confined spaces
- Fast-paced environment with scheduled service windows and daily productivity goals
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Class D Licence with Z Air Brake Endorsement (AZ licence is considered an asset)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience - Must driver Manual
- Clean driver's abstract and strong safety record
- Experience operating commercial vehicles in urban environments
- Strong backing and maneuvering skills
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs when required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, professional, and safety-oriented with a robust work ethic
