Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Financial Assistant to support our accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate will assist with payroll, payables and receivables, benefits management and other various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our daycares financial systems.

Duties

- Process accounts payable; pay bills on time, record and track all payments
- Process accounts receivable; record in ledger, Timesavr and email customer monthly statements.
- Ensure government funds; grants, child care subsidies and top up wages are tracked, claimed and received.
- Prepare payroll and pay payroll taxes bi-weekly.
- Prepare Records of Employment and final pay cheques.
- Manage benefits; including applications, billing and payments.
- Prepare client invoices, collect fees and submit monthly claims.
- Prepare all records for audit purposes.
- Track monthly room budgets.
- Prepare monthly paperwork for review.
- Maintain current records and documentation for files.
- Take payments and greet clients when necessary.
- Photocopy, type and other office duties as required.




- Keep skills current regarding any Government changes to payroll, Records of Employment, taxes, and Labor Standards.

Skills

- Possess current Criminal Record Check, Child Intervention Check and First Aid Certificate.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess knowledge in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.
- Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong mathematical skills essential for financial calculations and analysis.
- Works well independently, with minimal supervision but can work effectively as a member of the Administrative Team.
- Must be reliable and punctual with good time management, planning, and reporting skills.

Experience

- Minimum 1 year experience completing payroll and accounts payable and receivable.

Pay: $21.00-$27.00 per hour
