Element Refrigeration currently has an exciting chance for a 3rd yr, 4th yr or Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic within our growing company.

As the Refrigeration Mechanic you will provide high-quality workmanship while servicing equipment in the commercial and industrial environment.

Duties

- Service clients within commercial and industrial environments such as supermarkets, commercial buildings and restaurants, etc.

- Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning systems and components

- Install and calibrate related controls (including wiring)

- Maintain clean and operable equipment, vehicle and work area at all times

- Troubleshoot systems, suggesting corrective actions and sourcing parts

- When there is a malfunction, diagnose the problem and fix the unit by replacing or repairing controls, electric wiring or other parts

- Complete the required daily equipment inspections, safety reports, and Field Level Hazard Assessments.





- Other duties as assigned

- Mechanical aptitude and technical expertise as a Refrigeration and HVAC Journeyman

- Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team

- A problem-solving attitude with proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills

- Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, comfortable in dealing with vendors, suppliers, and co-workers

- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy

Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following:

- Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic (Red Seal)

- High School Diploma

- Experience in supermarket installation and service

- Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable 5 year driving abstract

- Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS, Fall Protection, AWP, H2S Alive, considered an asset

- Proof of permanent residency

- Gas ticket is an asset
