- Follow all rules and regulations as per the OH&S; Code, HSE guidelines, and client specific codes of practice.
- Assists the HSE Coordinator with the deployment of HSE personnel and equipment and conducts audits and inspections of personnel and equipment
- Inspect, inventory and document (on HSE rescue equipment inspections logs) High Angle Rescue equipment (according to manufactures instructions) to ensure all equipment is ready to use.
- Educate and coach Safety Watch personnel on all safety watch duties/responsibilities as per HSE policies and procedures in the P & T Manual
- Set up and test communications and alarm systems
- Ensure all gas detection and breathing apparatus equipment is inspected prior to use and passes a function test..
- Lead, demonstrate and encourage a positive safety culture,
where safety is an integral element to every task.
- Follow all HSE policies and procedures as per the P&T; Manual.
- Maintain a training log to show competency of rescue skills and attend a skills refresher at least once a year.
- Previous rope rescue experience (IRATA /SPRAT can be considered)
Additional Required Qualifications:
In addition to all qualification listed above:
- Previous rescue experience
- IRATA rope access certification would be considered an asset
- Experience in industrial related safety positions, particularly confined space knowledge #LP
- Ability to lift 75lbs
