Head of Junior Development – Full-Time

The Arbutus Club is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Junior Development to join our Tennis Department.
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all junior tennis programming while also contributing to adult instruction, event delivery, and member engagement.
Working closely with the Director of Tennis, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing players, growing participation, and delivering exceptional tennis experiences for members and their families.
This position is ideal for a well-rounded tennis professional with strong coaching, leadership, administrative, and organizational skills who is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive club environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead all junior tennis programming, including player development pathways, camps, clinics, tournaments,
and special events
• Deliver high-quality private and group instruction for junior and adult members while supporting coaching staff development
• Oversee the administration, budgeting, scheduling, and growth of junior tennis programs
• Build strong relationships with members and families while providing exceptional customer service and program guidance
• Monitor program performance and identify opportunities to enhance participation, member satisfaction, and player development
• Collaborate with the Director of Tennis and other Club departments to deliver outstanding member experiences and events
• Support the achievement of participation, retention, and revenue goals for the Tennis Department
• Assist with the training, mentorship, and ongoing development of coaching staff
Requirements & Qualifications
• Tennis Canada Club Professional 2 Certification (minimum) or international equivalent
• Minimum five (5) years of coaching experience, including both junior and adult tennis programs
• Robust leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Current Criminal Record Check
• Qualified, positive, and member-focused attitude
• Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising coaching staff
• CPR and First Aid Certification is an asset
