Life Skills Support

- Assist and encourage Participants in the pursuit of leisure activities, exercise programs, and community socialization opportunities; develop activities for individual or group participation.
- Support Participants in management of self, i.e. development and utilization of personal coping strategies, self-confidence & community rehabilitation.
- Assist Participants in realizing personal daily living goals, both short and long term, to facilitate progression towards independent living.
- Assist Participants where appropriate with family communication and mediation.
- Assist Participants as needed in developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with professionals in support of ongoing physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental wellness.
- Act as a positive role model for Participants; lead by example.

Program Support

- Encourage Participants to actively participate in service & goal planning
- Perform regular participant status and wellness assessments.
- Monitor Participant interactions and encourage social inclusion; coordinate conflict resolution and manage behaviors' as needed.
- Maintain personal and skilled boundaries with Participants.
- Maintain communication with staff and provide support as required or directed by reporting manager
- Build and maintain knowledge of community resources and referral pathways.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities; attend as many trainings and in-services as possible.
- Attend all mandatory trainings (Conditions of Employment).
- Attend meetings.
- Actively work to be a positive and supportive team member.
- Other duties as assigned.

Administrative Support





- Comply with the YWCA Lethbridge & District policies and procedures.
- Review and maintain accurate records, including ensuring use of appropriate program communication tools, as required.
- Maintain detailed records according to YWCA Lethbridge & District legal documentation guidelines.
- Take direction from the Case manager regarding Participant care; the Case manager is not to perform the duties of a supervisor, but may provide direction with regards to Participant care, particularly in relation to the Service Plan.
- Maintain regular communication with the management on matters affecting Participants’ wellbeing and in the general operations of the Hope House.
- Responsible for opening and/or closing the facility, with special care to ensure the facility is secure and operational each day.
- Perform daily walk through of the facility at the end of the day to ensure that all participants are engaged.
- Greet participants, staff, volunteers, and the public and stakeholders professionally, guiding them and providing direction as required.
- Exercise effective conflict management skills.
- Operate the main phone line, computer, and photocopier as necessary




- Oversee the lobby and related areas to ensure the atmosphere remains professional and kept as a place of business.
- Support programs as required through effective coordination, communication and supportive efficiencies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience

Required

- 1 year(s): Minimum of 1 year of direct experience in professional office administration

Education

Preferred

- College Diploma or better in Human Services

Licenses & Certifications

Preferred

- Drivers License-3yrs Exp
- First Aid and CPR Level-C
