Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to manage general accounting and financial processes of our company. This position will report to the Group Financial Controller.

At all times, act as a representative of Global Automation and Global J&C; Manufacturing and related companies using our core values of Integrity, Service and Quality in relationships with both internal staff members and external customers and suppliers· Promote and enforce a safe, clean, organized, and healthy work environment through planned work habits in accordance with Provincial Labour Laws, Health and Safety Regulations, and company policies and procedures.

Job/project management:

- Create new jobs in Sage 50
- Apply job budgets in Sage 50
- Follow up with the Sales and Engineering department

Accounts Payable tasks:

- Three-way matching invoices and post them in Sage 50
- Month End AP reconciliation between subledger and ledger
- Vendors statement reconciliation
- Posting expense reports in Sage
- Suppliers' payment by EFT and/or checks

Accounts Receivable tasks:

- Create customer orders.
- Invoice customers
- Apply customers payments in Sage




- AR collection

Labour management/payroll:

- Verify punches in and out in time management software.
- Keep track of time off paid and unpaid
- Create new jobs in both time management and accounting software.
- Prepare reports as required.
- Apply current accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Other tasks as required

Requirements and skills:

- Similar experience as an Accountant or relevant role in accounting
- Manufacturing experience
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets
- Knowledge of Sage 50 Canadian edition is a plus
- Good math skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Confidentiality and integrity
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting
