Kitchen Helper Responsibilities

- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
- Prepare simple food items as directed by supervisors and kitchen staff.
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen work areas, food preparation surfaces, storage areas, and equipment.
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors and remove garbage and recycling throughout each shift.
- Receive, unpack, label, rotate, and properly store food and supply deliveries following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and advise management of shortages or damaged products.
- Ensure all food products are handled, stored, and transported safely according to food safety standards.
- Assist with stocking and organizing kitchen supplies, dry storage, coolers, and freezers.
- Support opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned.
- Follow all workplace health, safety, sanitation, and company policies and procedures.
- Work cooperatively with kitchen and front-of-house team members to maintain efficient operations.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and respectful attitude toward guests, co-workers, and management.
- Respond promptly to supervisor instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Help ensure a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
- Perform other related duties as reasonably assigned by management.

Skills & Qualifications

- Previous kitchen, food service, janitorial,



or hospitality experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a quick-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lb.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required.
- Consistently reliable, punctual, and ready to work each scheduled shift.
- Willingness to learn new skills and accept feedback.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Team-first mindset.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming workplace.

Required Certifications

- Food Handlers Certificate (required or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)
- WHMIS Certification
- Standard First Aid (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)

A Criminal Record Check is required. Please provide a copy with your resume or be prepared to obtain one upon request.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
