A Snapshot of Your Day
The Fleet & Infrastructure Specialist oversees Siemens Energy Grid Technologies Service’s vehicle fleet, warehouses, and storage operations across Canada.
This role ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations while coordinating vehicle service, upfitting, repairs, and procurement for trucks, tool trailers, semi-trucks, and other equipment.
Additionally, the specialist provides consistent oversight of warehouse and storage operations nationwide.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Manage vehicle fleet for the Grid Technologies Service organization in Canada
- Manage infrastructure for the Grid Technologies Service organization in Canada, including but not limited to warehouses and critical mobile equipment such as tool trailers, oil processors, etc.
- Maintain departmental compliance with company policies, procedures, and adherence to federal and provincial laws and regulations in Canada, while keeping detailed records of service, inspections, and driver files.
- Develop and implement comprehensive plans for fleet management,
including vehicle acquisition, licensing, scheduled maintenance, and record-keeping, to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of fleet documentation and inspections, approve repairs promptly, and coordinate with stakeholders to maintain vehicle safety, minimize downtime, and ensure accurate record management for all fleet activities.
- Oversee warehouse operations ensuring implementation of 5S and other standardization practices + a continuous improvement program along a WMS.
What You Bring
- 5+ years in a fleet and/or warehouse management role preferred;
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian provincial and federal laws and regulations
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial truck system components
- Knowledge of Lean practices, standardization and workplace organization methodologies such as 6S, Kaizen, TPM, etc.
- Strong organizational skills for planning and coordinating maintenance & inspection schedules.
- This position is in a French-speaking workplace but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
