We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our food manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, packaging, ingredients, and indirect supplies while ensuring cost-effective purchasing, uninterrupted production, and solid supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and procure raw materials, food ingredients, packaging, and production supplies.

- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers.

- Manage purchase orders and ensure timely deliveries.

- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment with production and warehouse teams.

- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.

- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

- Analyze purchasing data, market trends, and supplier performance.

- Resolve supply chain issues and minimize disruptions.

- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, company policies,



and procurement procedures.

- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Finance teams.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in the food manufacturing or food processing industry.

- Strong knowledge of food ingredients, packaging materials, and supply chain management.

- Proven experience negotiating supplier contracts and pricing.

- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.

- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Purchasing, or a related field.

- CPIM, SCMP, or CPSM certification is an asset.

- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards is preferred.
