Position: Conversion Crew Leader (Part-time)
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Manager, Conversions
The Conversions Crew Leader will work primarily overnight/graveyard shifts and will lead a team of Conversions staff members to ensure all work is completed efficiently and safely. This is an hourly, part-time position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned as required)
- Lead, direct, and work with the crews for rapid building conversions, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all governing legislation, codes, and the operating policies of Canucks Sports & Entertainment
- Work closely with the Manager and Assistant Manager, Conversions on assignment of tasks and duties to ensure effective use of each crew member.
- Communicate with fellow crew leaders with respect to work and job assignments
- Ensure that all conversion equipment is maintained in safe working order
- Ensure that the issuance and collection of tools and equipment is organized and tracked effectively
- Work cross-functionally with other departments
- Train and upskill members of the conversion team on proper conversion techniques
- Track and report on staff performance and any staff issues or concerns
- Assist with creating new operating procedures to streamline and reduce conversion times
- Oversee all conversions duties through to completion
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability,
strong work ethic, and adherence to all operational and safety standards.
- Uphold and reinforce crew expectations
- Organize and delegate tasks to keep crew engaged during their shifts
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of experience leading, directing, and supervising staff
- 2+ years of forklift experience
- The ability to plan work and direct workers in an efficient manner under time constraints
- Experience managing client or customer relations
- Proven track record of managing conflict and employee performance
- Experience in the maintenance and care of mechanical equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in an event leadership capacity
- Skilled with hand and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting
- Skilled in protected operation of equipment to keep projects moving under tight deadlines
