Are you a passionate and experienced dog groomer looking for an opportunity to work in a picturesque setting surrounded by nature's beauty? Look no further! We're seeking a skilled individual to join our team at our beautiful boarding facility nestled on 5 acres of paradise on Bowen Island.

Position: Experienced Dog Groomer

Location: Bowen Island, BC, Canada (20 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver)

Experience: Minimum of one year as a full time professional dog groomer, with all sizes and breeds

Compensation: Competitive rates; compensation open to discussion

Accommodation: Short-term accommodation available for the right candidate.

Must be able to work in Canada (no sponsorships), and come to Bowen Island for an interview.

About Us:
Our boarding facility is more than just a place for pets to stay – it's a home away from home where furry friends from Vancouver and Bowen Island, receive top-notch care and attention. Situated on Bowen Island, our tranquil surroundings offer the perfect backdrop for providing exceptional grooming services to our beloved four-legged clients. You will work out of your own building and a fenced outdoor area, 2 tables available, raised bathtub with stairs for the dogs, hot water on demand, and support from the Dog Ranch team as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Perform grooming services according to client specifications and breed standard, including nails, baths, brushing, trimming and styling dogs' coats as required
- A majority of your clients will be Bowen Island resident dogs who are many, as there is no dog groomer on the island. Creating a relationship with the island residents and having repeat grooms means constant work. We also need a groomer for our boarding and training clients, typically groomed the day before they go home.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all animals in your care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of grooming area and equipment
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with pet owners




- Use our internal "Gingr" kennel software, and MAC Mail to book your appointments and oversee invoicing, with the help of our admin staff as needed
- We run Mac-based user-friendly computers.

Requirements:

- Minimum of one year of full time professional dog grooming experience. Many more preferred.
- Experienced knowledge of grooming techniques, tools, and products to professionally offer grooming of various breeds and coat types
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine love for animals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time (there is more than enough full-time work)

Pay: Commission 60 % - 70%, based on experience. Increases based on excellent proven grooming work after 3 months, and annually thereafter. Tips are all yours. Negotiable: Splitting some supply costs. We have dryers, tables, etc.

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
